Benefits of Buggyfit

Taking time out for yourself, especially to exercise, is fantastic not only for your fitness levels but mental wellbeing too, relieving stress, improving stamina and making for a happier Mummy. Buggyfit comes with the added bonus of exercising with like-minded women enabling you to make new friends and benefit from the social fun these classes bring.

Boosts Your Energy Levels

As a new mum, it is common to feel tired and a little bit drained, especially if you are not getting enough sleep. However, regular exercise can help boost your energy levels and make you feel more alert and awake.

Buggyfit is an excellent way to get some exercise whilst also spending time with your baby. The fresh air and sunshine can help to invigorate you, whilst the physical activity can help to stimulate your body and mind.

Improves Your Mood

It is well known that exercise can help to improve your mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. This is especially important for new mums, who may be experiencing a range of emotions as they adjust to their new role.

Buggyfit provides a supportive and welcoming environment where you can exercise and socialise with other new mums. The endorphins released during exercise can help to boost your mood and leave you feeling happier and more relaxed.

Lose Baby Weight & Build Muscle

It can be challenging to find the time and energy to exercise, but Buggyfit makes it easy as you simply bring your baby with you – no need for childcare!

Each class includes a range of exercises that are designed to target different muscle groups, whilst also working to strengthen your core and pelvic floor.

By participating in regular classes, you can gradually build strength and endurance, making it easier to take on the physical demands of motherhood.

Group Support for New Mums

Buggyfit provides a social outlet where you can meet other new mums and build supportive friendships. Every member understands the challenges of motherhood and is there to provide encouragement and support to one another.

Improves Posture and Balance

Buggyfit includes exercises that can help you improve your posture and balance, making it easier to move around and perform daily activities. Good posture and balance can also help prevent injuries and back pain.

Healthy Habits and Motivation

Buggyfit can be a great way to kickstart healthy habits that can benefit you and your baby in the long run.

In addition, Buggyfit can encourage you to make healthier choices in other areas of your life, such as eating a balanced diet, getting enough rest, and managing stress.

Provides an Outdoor Workout

Buggyfit takes place outdoors, which means you get to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while you exercise. Being outside can have a positive impact on your mental well-being, as it can help you feel more relaxed and refreshed.

Outdoor workouts can also provide a much needed change of scenery, which can help you stay motivated and engaged with your exercise routine.

Adaptable to Your Fitness Level

Buggyfit is designed to be adaptable to different fitness levels, which means you can participate regardless of your fitness level or previous exercise experience. I always provide modifications and progressions to suit your individual needs, making it a safe and effective workout for everyone.

FAQ's

  • Are Buggyfit trainers qualified?

Yes, all instructors are fully qualified and insured, to ensure you have a safe workout that will be effective for your ongoing fitness needs and to gain maximum results.

  • When can I start?

You may join a Buggyfit class as soon as you have had your GP check, usually at 6 or 8 weeks postnatal, and they have OK’d you to exercise. You don’t need a specific pram or buggy.

  • What if it rains?

We Buggyfit in all weathers (unless the Met Office are suggesting we don’t go out!) so come prepared. Remember: There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing! Exercising outdoors exposes you to sunlight which can help increase your levels of serotonin, a chemical that regulates mood.

  • What to wear?

    • Layers of clothes, as even in the coldest weather we can get very warm
    • Comfortable trainers
    • Good fitting sports bra
  • What to bring?

Make sure you have sun cream and a shade for baby in nice weather, but a rain cover for our unpredictable weather.

Please bring a small picnic rug, exercise mat, towel or similar for exercises on the grass.

Water to drink during the class, especially in the hot weather.

Toys and snacks for your baby or toddler.

Remember to bring your resistance band if you have one or can be purchased at £5 per band.

Please try and feed baby prior to starting the class to ensure they are satisfied and you are comfortable.

    Cancellations

“I was looking into baby classes and I thought why not make it something for me too… I enjoy being active in the outdoors and it makes a nice change from just another stroll with the buggy. I love meeting up each week and doing a full body workout. I also felt reassured with someone telling me how to safely strengthen my core, each week is helping me feel a bit more me again.”
I’ve loved getting back into fitness with Martha since having my baby. Each session has been different so far and I’ve felt comfortable working at my own level and pace. A view of the lake is a good distraction mid workout!
